Bass is The Place
Coincidence? DJ Q was on JustJam at DontWatchThatTV last Wednesday, I was wondering if you tuned in as I work on the show.

Coincidence actually - I bought DJ Q’s “All Junglist” single last week and saw that he had something new coming out.

Just checked out the set though and the show’s dope! Clearly this is a site I need to be up on, the guest selection looks a little more roughneck and focused on what I’m into these days.

Jeff was a bit optimistic in his assessment of electronic music’s forward drive on the Passion today. There’s plenty of retro-mania to go around. That said, UKG revival »> Future Garage any day of the week. THIS is how you sampled R&B.

Mr. Mitch’s Last Stand is getting a release! If you’ve downloaded last month’s Butterz zip you heard the studio freak out when he first dropped this one, complete with drunken threats towards (the apparently Diesel) Mitch if he didn’t include it on someone’s beat CD. Any time Terror Danjah describes a beat as “some Star Wars shit” you know it’s gotta be good. I could see myself gunning down sand people to this (no racist.)

So many memories of sitting the back of my mom’s car as a kid listening to this one on Montreal radio. Not the D&B version mind. Seriously though, I never realized this was a Neneh Cherry song, let alone international hit until yesterday - I had always assumed it was a French pop anomaly. In any case, great song.

Jacques Greene makes music for models to stumble back to their suites to. Nothing wrong with that.
Well, actually there is something wrong with that, at least in my worldview. I want to like Jacques Greene’s music but it’s surrounded by such an aura of absolute douche that I find myself ignoring his releases. He’s a talented kid but his public persona, label name (Vase? really?) and general aesthetic makes me want to rob and pistol whip him in the teeth. That may not be a nice thing to say but I figure he’s gained a lot of fans because of this image so he’s got to take the good with the bad. I’ll stick to artists named Coki and labels called DMZ.
What, you goin to Europe?
Anonymous

Yup, next September. Not permanently though - going to take a working holiday in Berlin for a bit and play it by ear.

Need this DVD. And swear down, if they throw one in 2013 and I’m still in Europe, I’m going.

Random white people going H.A.M to DJ Q’s All Junglist.
ProTip: when cutting costs, your drunken party video can be recycled into promotional material!

This is the hardest thing I’ve heard in forever.

The Wu-Tang Clan is heavily involved in the sale of drugs, illegal guns, weapons possession, murder, carjacking and other types of violent crime.

From Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI file.

They need to find one of those old Kung-Fu movie voice-actors to read this for a skit.
